a bit of history

Quilling, or paper filigree, is an ancient art dating back to at least the 15th century, maybe even earlier. Some believe it got its start with French and Italian nuns and monks.

After all but disappearing, quilling has made a strong comeback in the past 30 years.  Artists around the world have updated quilling styles and techniques in their more recent creations. Members of the North American Quilling Guild (NAQG)support each other in their art and provide technical assistance to the ever-growing numbers of new quillers.
